The Big Apple

So...

6 planes
4 van rides
3 people movers
1 train
and
1 bus ride later...

My team and I are in NY. Wild how quickly our plans are changed. We go from being fully prepared to live in London for the next 7 weeks to being rejected by the UK to flying up to NY. I'm really struggling with some disappointment, but God is definitely helping me through it all. We've been in NY for 2 and a half days. Our internship started as soon as we got here. Since you don't really know anything about the internship, let me explain... we will be working with International Students at SUNY and CUNY universities of NY. Exciting?! I know. We will be holding english conversation classes during our internship. Even more exciting! We will be doing much more, but it's hard to give you all the information on such an insecure site. I'm really excited that we will be spending majority of our time just hanging out with and building friendships and brothers and sisters with the internationals. The class we are taking/ study we are doing is wonderful, I am learning so much that I wouldn't have learned if I had gone to England this summer. God is definitely equipping me for where He will lead me later.

[If you want more information e-mail me/ facebook me. I would love to tell you all about it!! ]

My team and I have been through so much in the last week. Please be praying for rest and rejuvenation as we take today off.

PS... I WILL BE POSTING PICTURES SOON. I promise! It's been so hard to stay updated when I don't have my computer with me.

Much love to all my friends, and family.

FL or Bust!

Brothers and Sisters,
AsSalaamu Alaikum (Peace be with you)

I leave tomorrow morning from GSO to FL for training. After a few day in FL my team will leave for the UK!  I'm so excited for all the new sights and sounds, even though it wont be as fresh and clean as Summerfield, I'm certain I will find every new encounter with the city to be interesting and enjoyable.

How I've been preparing:
I've been watching Harry Potter, working on my British accent, and pulling things in and out of the bag that I've had fully packed for almost a week. Most importantly I've just been peaceful and trying to relax this past week. God has been really good and has provided fully to go on this trip. Praise Him!

Psalm 150:2
Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
